Name: Oliwer Magnusson Date of birth: 3rd of June, 2000
Born: Östersund, Sweden Family: Dad, Mom, 2 sisters and 2 brothers
I grew up in a town called Östersund, one hour from the ski resort Åre. I started skiing when I was around two years old. My parents brought me to the local ski slope and since then I´ve always loved skiing. At first, I liked to go straight down the slopes without carving. But then I realized that you could turn. At the age of 8, I found some jumps and rails in Åre.
From the first time I knew that I loved freeskiing. My family goes to Åre every weekend to ski. It has helped me a lot that my parents always have pushed me and like to ski.
Two years ago I started at a freeski school in Malung, Sweden. In the winter we ski 4-5 days every week in Kläppen which is just 30 minutes from the school. It has been very good for me because I´ve learned a bunch of new stuff when I get to ski almost every day.
Last season was my first competing in the world cup. I am pretty satisfied with the outcome of the season. My best result was 2nd place in the junior world champs. It was a really big honor to
represent Sweden and make it up on the podium. The first world cup I did was also a very big thing.
I qualified to the finals and got to ski in front of a very big crowd! I ended up in 8th place and I am
really happy with that.
I´ve always enjoyed all kind of sports. When I was a kid I tried a lot of different sports.
Except from skiing, I also liked to ice skate. I played a sport called bandy, which is very small and
almost just played in Scandinavia and Russia.
My goal is to become the worlds greatest skier. I want to win the major freeski competitions, but also have good video parts. To reach my goal I have to work hard and ski a lot, and that is what I love!
Next season is just around the corner and I´m really looking forward to it!
